Weekend Box Office #191

Life rolls along.

GROWN UPS (3534 theaters). The cast is impressive (for this kind of thing), though reviews haven't been all that excited. Still, it looks like dumb fun. Figure $29.4 million for the weekend.

KNIGHT & DAY (3098 theaters). It opened two days ago, and the numbers haven't been all that solid, while reviews have been mixed. Figure $25.4 million for the weekend.

******

Last weekend, TOY STORY 3 did a solid $110.3 million. JONAH HEX tanked with only $5.4 million.

Rented "Youth in Revolt" and "She's Outta My League" at Blockbusters.

VERY bad year for new releases creatively. Where are all the new "breakthrough" talents?! We need some. Someone. Someone to perk interest amongst those with a creative bend. Why not Scott Mullen? Someone uncover that rock. America needs to be Mullenated!

You couldn't get me into see GROWN UPS even if you had a team of wild horses, a court order, and an overclocked cattle prod.

TOY STORY 3 is far and away the best movie of the year, though to see it I (per usual) had to sit through 20 minutes of previews for movies I'd happily pay cash money to never see mentioned again.

"Mullenated?" Now that is funny.

I just check the prelim box office for the weekend. Knight and Day 20 million and Grown Ups 41 million. Wow! Tom Cruise squashed by Adam Sandler and crew. That's pretty bad.
