Weekend Box Office #84

So I'm still in my combination of being swamped with work/spring funk.

I did finish a polish of my thriller this week, so there's that. Next week I'm determined to get back to the screenwriting-an-hour-a-day thing. Alogn with everything else I have to do.

Otherwise, if anyone has any topics of conversation for future blog entries, feel free to bring them up.

This weekend there's just one movie opening wide:

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN (3929 theaters). It's getting good reviews, and there's not much competition until INDY opens next week. Let's call it a whopping $79 million, but I'm probably low.

Scott, don't be a slave to the process. Try to have some fun with it.

Topics for Conversation:

1. Who would you most want to work with in the industry and why?

2. What do the Seattle Seahawks have to do to get back into the next Super Bowl? (Works for me)

3. What is the proper balance a pre-pro writer should have when in reguards to writing new material, and marketing stuff they've already written?

4. What are acceptable conventions for subtley implying camera changes? Like cuting to reveal a hidden knife? Or going to a differnent area of the room to pick-up on other conversations.

5. How I--I mean we writers use our Golden Retrievers and Black Poodles to make inroads with members of the opposite sex?

6. Why are so many so-called "creatives" lacking in basic civil discource? Why are so-called "creatives" mean to the genuine nice guys out there?

7. A listing of beautiful women who might have soft spot in their heart for guys from Bonney Lake always makes a nice pre-Memorial Day gift to less priveledged.

8. What do actresses respond to? Or in othter words, what morally accepable tricks are availible to the pre-pro writer to get a read from someone you want to read your script?

9. What's it like to it like to work with someone with talent?

10. Bonney Lake now has two subs shops directly across the street from each other. One has a fancy name, "Jersey Mike's" which IMPLIES East Coast quality, but it SUCKS. But my real question is: when is Bonney Lake going to get a descent pizzaria? I'm sick of waiting for Northwest Screenwring Guild events to get my New York pizza from someone who knows the differnce between dough and d'oh!

Didn't read past #2, E.C. But just wanted to say I'm a Steelers fan and we crushed you guys in SBXL. Ha!

Congrats on finishing, Scott.
