Shaking The Tree
So work has been slow, times are tough, and they just got tougher: my wife's car (the good car - or it was) died for good today.
So I need to start busting my can and making some money.
Anyone who has enjoyed my notes service in the past, and has offered to spread the word, now is the time. Give me a plug on a website or a blog; send people to http://www.sixtybucknotes.blogspot.com/
For the near future, that's the price again: $60.
Still the best deal on the web. 4-6 pages of notes. I will make your script better.
Thanks --
Scott

Scott, my heart and prayers go out to you. Wish I could help you, but I too have financial hardships of my own: got laid-off from my job two Fridays ago, and the quest for work up here in Washigton is bleak. Boeing, the major employer up here, keeps laying of waves of THOUSANDS of people a time. Not a lot of job, lotta people lookin'. NOT GOOD. Good thing we have Obama at the helm. Things will be turning arround any day now... (tick-tock, tick-tock)
LOVE your notes. (You're still my main-man) When I do have the script I'm woking on done, and am in better financial shape myself, will surely call on your services again. I guess if you REALLY need the money I could mail you some of my reserves, but at this point that's what I'd be doing.

P.S. I'm also working on a new romantic comedy, which is the the genre I like writing in the most.
Can throw in my wholehearted recommendation for Scott's services.
Finally got the chance to send Scott a script for notes the other week and was more than happy with his feedback. His notes are easy to follow and go right to the heart of any weaknesses in your script.
Will be using him again very shortly.
cheers
Dave.
Just plugged you on my blog.
My favorite car trouble line comes from Chuck Pogue's script for PSYCHO 3...
Guy asks hitchhiker why she's hitching.
"Car trouble."
"What happened?"
"No car."
"Well, that's the worse kind there is."

I also just plugged you on my blog, and shared it on Triggerstreet as well. Good luck!
Just have to ask -- what kind of value are these notes?
I think I read that you've been trying to break in for like 18 years... why should anyone go to you for notes if you can't break in yourself after all that time?
Please don't take that personally. It had to be asked.
Because knowing what works and doesn't work in a screenplay -- and how to make something better -- doesn't have quite enough to do with getting one's big break.
And because those who have made it aren't offering this service :-)
You know, that's a good answer. I'm glad you didn't take it personally.
(But the last part isn't always the case -- I've had pro writers give me notes free of charge. But I still may try yours, since they're quite inexpensive and comparing them could be illuminating.)
