Weekend Box Office #119

Not much opening wide this weekend, though Slumdog Millionaire expands to 1411 screens, and Frost/Nixon and Revolutionary Road expand to over 1000.

UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS (2942 theaters). It's a genre sequel, so that it'll help it do some business. $17.1 million.

INKHEART (2655 theaters). A terrible title, underwhelming reviews, and it sort of looks like a more-serious version of BEDTIME STORIES. $9.8 million.

I read the Seattle Times review of "Inkheart." They make it sound like some sort of "Wizard of Oz" hybrid. Sounds like a DVD rental...

I really think "Slumdog Millionare" is going to get some butts in the seats because of the respect it has gotten via the awards circuit. Don't think "Frost/Nixon" and "Revoltionary Road" will feel that vibe however, though.

Hope things are going well in your life, Scott. I AM hard at work on a script I can't wait to show you...

EC, you have an unhealthy obsession with this man. How long until you write him into one of your scripts as the gay love interest?

Annonymous, I ABSOLUTE love the man who does this blog. But I'm afraid you're not mature enough for me to explain this or much else to you.
Sad to say, but you, sir, are stuck in a 6th grade mentailty. (And even saying that MAY be being a bit generous on my part) Suffice to say, you are a mental midgit.
You need to get off the buss, Gus. Rejoin your life in progress, and learn how to interface with the grown-ups!

lol
