Weekend Box Office #114
Only a few things opening wide this weekend:
THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (3560 theaters). The commercials look interesting, and there isn't much competition. Prediction: $44.3 million.
DELGO (2160 theaters). That's a lot of theaters for an animated movie that isn't on my radar at all. $2.1 million.
NOTHING LIKE THE HOLIDAYS (1671 theaters). It'll be interesting to see how a holiday movie with Hispanic characters does. $10.8 million.

I was thinking about seeing The Day the Earth Stood Still but Rotten Tomatoes is giving it 20% so I think I'll go to the New Bev or something instead.
"The Day the Earth Stood Still" looks like fun. Keanu Reeves in another sci-fi, sounding very much like Neo from "The Matrix?" BRILIANT. What took ya so long come back to the genre, Keanu? Come to think of it, his character in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" isn't that far off that beaten path either. Similar plays in different roles.
The only thing that intreages me about "Delgo" is I BELIEVE Jennifer Love Hewitt has a speaking role in it. Would LOVE to see her ditch her Friday night gig, and take a shot at the big time again. Hopefully, sometime soon, feature roles will open up for her...

Jennifer Love Hewitt has about as much acting talent as the keyboard I'm using to type this.
She has nice knockers though. And they look terrific on a giant screen covered with a tight sweater. I saw the I Know What You Did films more times in the theater than I'd care to admit for that reason alone.
Matt, you should rent the movie, "Confessions of a Psycopathic, Socil Climber." Jennifer is EXCELLENT in that.
I agree with you in part, she is blessed in the looks department, but you're a little too crass for me to be in complete agrement with you. IF given the right script and director I think she's capable of delivering a great performance.
One really cool thing about Jennifer Love Hewitt is that she's been arround for like forever -- yet she's only 29... Thus she has a lot of experience to draw upon. Now it's just time to bring all to fruition with a great staring role.
