I actually agreed with you and said it would sail north of 100 (well, not THAT far north, maybe it'll reach 110.

Well, it just wiffed at the Golden Globes. If for some reason, it doesn't get many Oscar Nominations (especially if it misses Best Picture), I think it may die a quick death.
I don't think that will happen though.
It didn't whiff at the Golden Globes. It won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Or maybe you were just making a funny.
I think Thomas got the SAG and Golden Globes confused... the SAG Awards were not kinf to BBM.

A few weeks back I found myself BSing with a couple of rough looking dudes from Utah. After an hour listening to a bunch of trailer park tales about lying, cheating, drug-addicted girlfriends and epic booze fueled fistfights somehow Brokeback Mountain came up (Don't ask me how). I fully expected an anti-gay rant but one dude just said "I ain't gonna see that" to which the other replied "Shit. Just two people looking for love is all". I knew right then I'd lost the bet. Good feeling to lose sometimes.
Anyway, I bought the next round.
