i just did a little digging...
since 1991 there's never been less than 3500 entries per year, and sometimes up to 6000. only 300 of those make the quarterfinals and only 120 make the semi-finals.

Great news Scott! But I worry.
I'm half-way through my first script and I was eager to send to your sixty-dollar note offer so you could bash it properly. Now it seems that, maybe you won't be around to do the job! You'll be "taking meetings." Your cell phone bill will be as high as a teennager's. Your foot will be in dozens of doors, and metaphors for potential success, or rather, your handle, will become Scott the Screenwriter! Anyway, I hope you win a Nichol this time around.
